I usually spend the better part of my day saying this phrase. I'm now "unofficially" a single mom. I know, sounds weird, but true. My husband, the hockey player, has been traded to the Atlanta Thrashers. Our life in Chicago with kids doesn't stop, so we've decided that I would stay and raise the kids for now and he'd go to work.
I decided to start a blog to not only document my year alone, but maybe get some advice. Yes, I'm open to help. Those who know me wouldn't believe that, but I guess change is good....right?
Feel free to comment and give me some feedback. I've decided not to censor myself...some may be thinking, "HOLY SHIT KEL!" Well, if you don't like it...don't read it.
I LOVE IT...can't wait to read all about your journey! Wish I was there with you guys.
Your an amazing mom, wife, daughter and friend! Even though you don't pick up your phone - if anyone can do it...it would be you:)

Don't censor a f*cking thing, girlfriend. I love it. The wedding picture looks familiar; I think I remember cropping and chopping.....And really, if you answered your phone or texts, you wouldn't be Kelly. I think by writing about this experience, it may be able to put events in prospective. I think writing is what saved my sister-in-law when she moved to Texas, with two kids and a husband at work. Creativity can be calming. I love, love, love this!!

Good for you! I would love to follow your adventures :) I recently starting blogging myself and it is kind of a nice venting station or just a way of thinking outloud!
Looking forward to reading :)

Welcome to the blogosphere! Loved your husband in Chicago and definitely keeping an eye on the Thrashers to watch him play. :)

Nice Kell! I totally agree with Linda, answering your phone and texts wouldn't be the REAL you! LMAO!! That's why I just call or Text Paul, he answers pretty quick, and I get a feel for what's still going on in the Sopel Household! As far as your Hubby goes, I pretty much talk or text him every other day!! Looking forward to sporting the Thrasher Blue this season! GO SOPES!

You can do it. I'm a mom with 5 kids and I attend college full time along with the hubby working, I can tell you that life becomes organized chaos and those times of peace you will really come to enjoy and appreciate. I'm looking forward to following your journey and just know there are people out there thinking of you. I can't imagine not having my hubby there for me.. you're a heck of a gal :)

i really loved getting to watch your husband play in chicago and i've always been interested in finding out what happens to families when a player gets traded. looks like i'll be be finding out here. also, i've been blogging for two years now and it's a great way to relieve stress. i hope this helps sort things out when they get hectic and i look forward to your posts!

I've been a Thrashers fan for four years now, and I am excited to have your husband come play in Atlanta. My husband travels from time to time, but I can't imagine what it's like for you. I am looking forward to your posts. Best of luck...you have a great sense of humor, which is always necessary for sanity! :D

I'm just a girl doing my Masters degree in Ottawa, away from my hometown (Winnipeg) and all my family and friends, particularly my mom, who's dealing with breast cancer. I can relate to the loneliness and the hectic lifestyle of trying to get everything done for everyone else and neglecting yourself. I hope the blog is a great release for you, and I'm glad you're sharing your stories with the world! It's sometimes nice to know that we're not lonely alone.
