Doing MUCH better today. Spending the day in bed helped bunches. Curled up with my blanket watching the Notebook was a great way to spend the afternoon. Hell, I even made the biggest plate of pasta and loaded it with butter and cheese!
The kids were funny when I picked them up from school. Me, being in my pajamas, telling them we had to stop at the store drew some silence. I decided to make myself some lemon meringue martinis along with a big salad for dinner. The kids had no activities, so it was perfect timing.
I was cursing Sopes when I reached for some vanilla vodka and realized he took pretty much all of the alcohol with him to Atlanta. Yes, it took me until January to figure this out - not much of a drinker! The kids found this rather amusing - they let him know when he called last night. Anyway, the drinks were amazing and the salad even better! I finished it all with some wagon wheels from Canada. They're my favorite and the in-laws always keep us replenished.
So, today is a new day. The morning started out much better. Had three of them off by 7:40 and the fourth at 8:15. A hot shower and life is good! When Sopes called this morning I handed the phone off to Lyla. That's punishment enough for him. She'll talk about nothing FOREVER and keep him on the phone. Rambling is what she does best!
BTW - thanks for all of the kind messages yesterday. Everyone has good days and bad days. Moms out there realize this the most! We all have our own set of problems. Diminishing, and scrutinizing doesn't do anyone good.
Glad to hear today is better! I'm not a Mom and would never dream of knowing what that feels like...especially a Mom working alone. But I do find that a good nap, some "me" time, and a call to my best girlfriend will help most anything. Here's to smooth sailing this week...

I'm glad things are better. Yeah, every once in a while, alcohol is the cure.

Glad to hear you're doing better. Things usually look different after a good night's sleep. But you're right... Mom's understand. Thanks for the post yesterday. It helps remembering that this kind of stuff happens to all of us. My breakdown was December 23rd as I was trying to get the house ready for hosting Christmas Eve dinner. I'm vacuuming and my husband decided to stop for a beer on his way home. I was furious. It doesn't seem so terrible now... he was stressed, too. (probably from putting up with me.)

So I Googled those Wagon Wheels you spoke of and I was wondering if you've ever tried Pinwheel cookies (after further Googling, I figured out Nabisco makes them) - they sound a lot like the wagon wheels and you can get them here in the States! Sometimes you have to look extra hard to find them in the cookie section, but they're at most bigger grocery stores. They were my grand-grandpa's favorite and he was always eating them when I was little - now I think of him whenever I pick up a pack!
